Got A Question?
How do I know the difference between
Mild, Moderate and Extreme build up?

Mild Buildup:
Everyday dirt, dust, crumbs, fingerprints, light bathroom residue
-
Dust & Dirt: Little to mild visible dust on surfaces such as shelves, tables, furniture, and baseboards. Dust may be noticeable when looking closely, but there is no heavy or thick accumulation.
-
Floors: Everyday dust, crumbs, hair, and light tracked-in dirt may be present. Floors are not heavily soiled and have no significant sticky or grimy areas.
-
Kitchen: Light crumbs, fingerprints, food residue, or minor everyday marks may be present. No significant grease buildup on countertops, stovetop, backsplash, or appliances.
-
Bathroom: Light water spots or minor soap residue may be present. No significant soap scum, mineral buildup, or mildew.
-
Overall: The home is regularly maintained and has normal day-to-day buildup, but does not have significant dirt, grease, dust, or grime. A routine cleaning is generally sufficient to bring the home back to a fresh, clean condition.
-
Typical Condition: Recently cleaned or regularly maintained, with normal household buildup between cleanings.
Moderate Buildup:
Noticeable dust, visible grease, grime, soap scum, scrubbing required
-
Dust & Dirt: A noticeable layer of dust is present on surfaces such as shelves, tables, furniture, and baseboards. Cobwebs may be visible in corners, along ceilings, or around fixtures.
-
Floors: Noticeable dust, dirt, hair, and debris are present, particularly in high-traffic areas. Some areas may have light grime, residue, or sticky spots that require additional attention.
-
Kitchen: Visible grease, food residue, or grime may be present on countertops, stovetop, backsplash, cabinets, or appliances. Fingerprints and buildup are more noticeable and may require scrubbing rather than a simple wipe.
-
Bathroom: Noticeable soap scum, water spots, or mineral buildup may be present on showers, tubs, faucets, or fixtures. Light mildew or dis-coloration may be present in grout or around fixtures.
-
Overall: The home has noticeable accumulated buildup that requires additional scrubbing and attention beyond a routine wipe-down. Some areas may require multiple passes, more elbow grease and additional cleaning time to achieve the desired result.
-
Typical Condition: More buildup than would be expected from regular day-to-day use, whether due to a longer interval between cleanings, higher household traffic, pets, kids or other factors.
Extreme Buildup:
Heavy/thick dust, significant grease or grime, stains, and extensive accumulated buildup
-
Dust & Dirt: Heavy or thick dust accumulation is present on surfaces, along with significant cobwebs, pet hair, dirt, or other accumulated debris. Dust and buildup may be present in areas that are difficult to reach or typically overlooked.
-
Floors: Floors may have heavy dirt, grime, sticky residue, stains, or ground-in debris, particularly in high-traffic areas. Significant buildup may require extensive scrubbing or repeated cleaning.
-
Kitchen: Heavy grease, grime, and food residue may be present on countertops, stovetop, backsplash, cabinets, appliances, or other surfaces. Sticky surfaces and substantial buildup may be present, and appliances such as the oven may require extensive cleaning.
-
Bathroom: Heavy soap scum, mineral/calcium buildup, staining, or extensive mildew-like buildup may be present on showers, tubs, grout, fixtures, and toilets. Significant scrubbing may be required to remove accumulated residue.
-
Overall: The home has extensive accumulated buildup and requires substantially more time, effort, and detailed scrubbing than a standard or moderate clean. Some buildup may require specialized products or cleaning methods and may not be fully removable depending on its severity.
-
Typical Condition: Significant buildup has accumulated over an extended period or the home requires substantially more cleaning than would be expected from a regularly maintained household.
What areas do you service?
Michlynn Cleaning proudly serves Smiths Falls, Perth, Carleton Place, Montague township, Almonte Mississippi Mills, Augusta, Kemptville and Merrickville–Wolford as well as Kanata/Stittsville.
Don’t worry if you’re outside our base location; we’d still be happy to help make your home sparkle!
To keep our pricing fair and transparent for all clients, we use a four-zone travel system.
Depending on how far your location is from our core service area, a travel fee may apply. This helps cover the additional time and fuel required to reach homes outside our primary service region.
Your travel fee will be determined based on the zone your location falls into, and we’re always happy to confirm this with you before booking.

Do I need to supply anything?

Rest assured! We bring all the necessary eco-friendly products and professional tools!
If you prefer we use your supplies, just let us know in advance.**
Please note: We are an eco-friendly cleaning company and do not use bleach or heavily chemical-based products as part of our cleaning services. We do not handle or use client-provided bleach or harsh chemical products, and will respectfully decline requests to use them.
We are not liable for any damage to equipment or surfaces resulting from products provided or used by the client.
The service agreement is automatically approved once your first cleaning is confirmed and booked.**
Do I need to be home for my cleans?
We prefer you to be home for the first clean, so you can share any details or preferences about your space. After that, many clients provide us with a spare key, garage code, or door lock code so we can clean while they’re away.
If you’d prefer to be home every time, that works too!
What products do you use?
We specialize in safe, eco-friendly cleaning solutions that are non-toxic, giving you peace of mind for your home, children, and pets. Our products include Decon 30 and Atomic by Benefect, Sal Suds by Dr. Bronner’s, as well as Norwex Power Paste.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured to give you peace of mind while we’re in your home or office.
How do I pay?

We accept cash or e-transfer, whichever you prefer.
E-transfer: Payment is due within 48 hours of service, unless otherwise arranged.
Cash: Cash payment is due at the end of each clean. Please note that we do not carry change, so the exact amount is required.

How do you charge?
Our cleaning services are charged based on the total cleaning time provided by our two-person team. Having two cleaners allows us to complete your cleaning in less time while maintaining the same high standard and attention to detail.
For example, 3 hours billed means 3 total labour hours, which equals approximately 1.5 hours of cleaning time in your home with both cleaners.
-
3 hours billed = 1.5 hours in-home
-
4 hours billed = 2 hours in-home
-
6 hours billed = 3 hours in-home
This means you get a quicker clean with the same quality and attention to detail, while both cleaners work together efficiently throughout your home.
We charge based on actual cleaning time, so estimates are used as general guidelines. If the cleaning takes less time than estimated, you will be charged accordingly. If we anticipate that additional time will be needed, we will always check with you and receive approval before proceeding.
Please note that we do have a 3-hour minimum charge for all bookings.

What if I am not satisfied with my clean?

Your satisfaction is our priority. If something was missed, please let us know within 24 hours and we’ll make it right!
Do you offer add ons and custom services?
Yes, we do! Our available add-ons can be selected directly on our booking form and include:
-
Inside fridge
-
Inside oven
-
Inside cabinetry
-
Pulling out appliances
-
Blinds
-
360 Cleaning of vent covers
-
Washing of windows and screens
-
Washing of baseboards and framework
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to leave us a note in your booking form; we’re happy to accommodate custom requests whenever possible. We can also tailor your cleaning to focus on specific areas of your home: for example, a deep clean of just your kitchen or bathrooms.
Most add-ons do not have an additional flat fee; you simply pay for the time required to complete them. Floor scrubbing is included at no extra cost when part of a Deep Clean or Move-In/Move-Out service. If added to a General Clean, a $50 fee will be applied to your estimate.
Please note that add-ons are not a replacement for a Deep Clean or Move-In/Move-Out Clean. If multiple add-ons are selected that align with our deep cleaning scope, your service may be quoted at our Deep Clean hourly rate.
Safety and Liability
For safety and liability reasons, we do not clean aluminum blinds, as they are fragile and can be easily damaged.
We also do not pull out appliances that are located on hardwood or other easily scratched flooring, or appliances connected to water or gas lines. We are happy to clean behind and around these appliances if they are safely pulled out and replaced by the client before our arrival.
Vent covers will need to be removed by the client beforehand if you would like us to clean them.
We do not remove window screens that are installed on the exterior side of window. These screens must be removed by the client beforehand if cleaning them is requested.

How do you come up with Estimates?

Estimates are based on square footage, level of buildup (mild, moderate, or extreme) and type of service.
We will come view the location to do a walkthrough with you if requested before hand or ask for photos of more lived in spaces: such as bathrooms, kitchen, living room/TV room and bedrooms.
All quotes are estimates - final cost may adjust if the cleaning needs more time or specialized work.
